May sucked donkey balls.

I can’t believe I only read 3 books in May. THREE. BOOKS. Okay, four. But The Mistake I Made by Paula Daly was a re-read. So I don’t think it counts. Certainly not towards my Goodreads Challenge – where I’m sorely lagging behind by 10. I mentioned yesterday that I made like a sloth this month and completely disappeared for a week. I just…I don’t know. I was feeling maudlin and didn’t really feel like doing anything. Needless to say, I’m scared to see what my TBR Differential is like in May.

  1. On the Edge of Gone by Corinne Duvis
  2. A Totally Awkward Love Story by Tom Ellen and Lucy Iveson
  3. The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
  4. The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
  5. Unbecoming by Jenny Downham
  6. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
  7. Changeless by Gail Carriger
  8. The Season of Me and You by Robin Constantine
  9. Thanks for the Trouble by Tommy Wallach
  10. Far Gone by Laura Griffin
  11. Flannery by Lisa Moore
  12. Alter Egos by Mark Landler
  13. The Last Star by Rick Yancey
  14. The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney
  15. The Problem With Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout
  16. Savage by Thomas E. Snigoski

Slow January

The other day, as I was doing my very best to be unproductive, I stumbled upon an article over at Book Riot asking their readers what was in their Inbox/Outbox for the week. I thought it’s a great alternative to putting someone’s reading month in perspective. So I decided to adapt this way of recapping  my month of January.

As you can see, it had been a slow reading month for me. I only read 10 books in total. As I’ve mentioned in my past posts, January got a tad too busy in my mortal world. I neglected most of the books on my reading pile and had weeks when I could barely write a post for the coming week. I was still relatively active, though.

  • The Dirt on Ninth Grave by Darynda Jones (read in November)
  • Feverborn by Karen Marie Moning
  • The Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman
  • City of the Lost by Kelley Armstrong
  • He Will Be My Ruin by KA Tucker
  • Pillars of Light by Jane Johnson
  • And Again by Jessica Chiarelli
  • More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
  • Uprooted by Naomi Novik
  • Anna and the Swallow Man by Gavriel Savit
  • All-American Boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely
  • Bad Feminist by Roxanne Gay
  • Dept. of Speculation by Jenny Offill
  • The Dirty Secret by Kira A. Gold
  • Status Update by Annabeth Albert
  • Priest by Sierra Simone

Ideally, I should have more books in my OUTBOX than in my INBOX. So any time that number is higher, it spells doom for my TBR pile. Next month, I’m aiming for a negative differential.

How was your January? Did you get all the books you wanted to get for the month?
