Hoarders, Books Edition: Episode 188

As you know, I was on vacation for a week (a couple of weeks ago now) so I haven’t done a Hoarders post since. And because I had plenty of time on my hands during my time off, I found myself at a bookstore more than once. Also, my daughter’s been into thrift shopping nowadays, so I couldn’t resist picking up used books on her jaunts. The mail from publishers has been pretty epic as well. So my haul today is ridiculous.

The blog turned 5 years old yesterday. I’d like to thank you all again for sticking with me. Some of you have been with me since day one and some, I’ve only gotten to know in the last couple of years. Regardless, you make this all worthwhile.

  • Happy Blog Birthday! I have actually read a few of your used books this time! Well the J.D. Robb one and I saw the movie for Carolina Moon, and I think I have read the Nora Roberts one. You did get quite the haul! Happy reading!

Great haul, Enjoy all your books.
Congrats on the aniversary of the blog!

  • I’m so jealous of your book haul! Especially Scythe. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! I also managed to snag myself an ARC for The Swan Riders. I’m glad to see Manners & Mutiny in there too :P.

    • I have yet to read the first book to that series, though. Also, Mutiny is book four, yes? I need to find the rest of the books in the series. Lol.

  • I love the picture you included with this post. Did you take it yourself? Love it!

Looks like an amazing book haul. Happy reading!

  • I have been thrift shopping too, thought sadly books are rare, English ones that is

  • Oooh I’m really intrigued with Scythe by Neal Schusterman! I hope you enjoy that one. and I’m looking forward to your reviews as always! I love your hauls, they are seriously the best.

    • Thanks, Jeann. Have you read any of his books? I’m somewhat intimidated.

  • Gorgeous! A few of these I’m very curious about.

    • Thanks! There’s some pretty good releases in the coming months. πŸ™‚

  • Oh, wow! That’s a lot of books. I saw this same picture on your IG and loved it so much. The prints are gorgeous and just give such a nice feel to the picture. *sighs contentedly*

I’m glad you’ve been thrifting some good books, as well as buying them new, Joy! I hope you found some really stellar reads through that. I went recently and picked up a tonne of excellent reads (old favourites and prospective reads) and it was basically like going to a bookfair. I just love searching through bookstacks and coming out with something utterly glorious, and I definitely did this weekend. I hope you continue to find some awesome reads through thrifting!

Happy blog anniversary! I’m off to visit your post from that in a moment, but congratulations! We’ve almost been doing this for as long as each other! *cheers the both of us*

    • Thanks, Romi! I have the inclination to go thrifting for books nowadays for some reason. I just like the idea that someone has read that book before me. It’s the history that comes with it. πŸ™‚

  • Have a fantastic week ahead, joy!

  • Happy blogoversary and enjoy your books hun!

  • 5 years! Happy blogaversary! I’m so glad I found your blog, Joy. I really enjoy reading your thoughts, and I like that you delve into so many different genres, it helps me find new titles to explore! <3 Enjoy this latest haul!

    • Aw. Thanks, Hannah. I love your reviews as well. You’re a very articulate, brilliant writer – insightful, too!

  • I’m sooooo excited for Scythe!! I can’t wait to read your review for that!! I’m also considering The Sunlight Pilgrims. Would love to read your thoughts on that one too πŸ™‚

    • I am, too! I’ve never read a book by Shusterman before so I’m very excited!

  • Great haul! I am looking forward to your review for Scythe. It’s on my must-have list, so I’m pretty sure I’ll be breaking my book buying ban.

    • I’ve never read a book by him so I’m equally excited! I hope I’ll enjoy it because I have all his books from his other series. πŸ™‚

  • ChristinaBookAddict

Fantastic haul. There are a few there, like Scythe, that I am interested in! I look forward to your thoughts! I also see you got a Nora Roberts book. I bought my first one at a used book store last weekend. Excited to finally check her out! Congrats again on your blogoversary!

    • Thanks, Christina. I found so many of her books at the thrift store. It’s very tempting to buy them all. Lol.

  • Why yes, Joy, that is quite the epic haul. I remember when your book hauls were massive! Covering entire tables and whatnot. lol. Hope you enjoy these.

    • I need to stop. *cries* I can’t afford these splurges any more!

  • Uhm, I don’t think there is anything else I can say here but that this is a whole lot of books! I mean, as long as some of these are used books I guess that means they can’t be too expensive, and then a bunch are from publishers as well, so you didn’t actually spend that much! Happy reading πŸ˜€

    • I supposed that’s another way to look at it. Lol. Still. This is an insane amount of books in two weeks!

  • Wow that’s a lot of books! Yay for Robyn Carr! πŸ™‚

    • Looking forward to reading her books – finally! Lol.
