Morning Star by Pierce Brown | She’s Not There by Joy Fielding | The Defiant by Lisa M. Stasse | The Twelve by Justin Cronin | Shylock is My Name by Howard Jacobson

Greetings and Salutations!

How are y’all? I had a better week. Thank you for all your kind words and encouragement. There’s nothing on the horizon yet, but I have an interview lined up on Monday. Let’s hope it’ll lead to something great. Because I was pretty much at home this past week, I was able to read some, write some and comment. This might be a good opportunity to find some blogs to follow, so I’m going to take advantage.

Much Love

Thank you so much to Penguin Random House Canada for my review copies of Shes’s Not There and Shylock is My Name. I’ve always wanted to try Joy Fielding’s work so I was happy when I saw her latest from PRHC’s email last month. Also, Shylock is My Name is the latest in Hogwarth Shakespeare’s series. This is Howard Jacobson’s interpretation of The Merchant of Venice.

Binge Reading Kit

The highlight of my week was receiving this box from Penguin Random House Canada. As you know, I recently read and reviewed The Passage by Justin Cronin. Words cannot express how much I loved it. I loved it so much I picked up a copy of The Twelve as soon as I turned the last page of The Passage. Lo and behold, this arrived a few days later. Bonus: ARC of the third book in the series! OMG. I was flailing like a fish out of water. Lol. Included in this box was gum, night light, Red Bull and popcorn for snacks. Perfect binge reading necessities!

Anyway, show me what you got. Leave me a link or what have you. Otherwise, I’ll come by soon.

Happy reading, loves!

  • That’s a nifty little care package Penguin Random House put together. I had no idea they did stuff like this. I mean, I know people get boxes of books, but I had no idea that they sometimes got popcorn too.

I’m really interested in Shylock is My Name. It’s part of that Hogarth Shakespeare project, right?

    • Isn’t it cool? I thought it was timely that I just finished The Passage. I’m so glad I enjoyed the book or I would have a different reaction. Lol. And yes, it’s an Hogarth Shakespeare instalment. 🙂

  • Yay for getting lots of pretty books 🙂 That box looks pretty awesome. <3 I also have Morning Star, but have yet to read the first book, lol. But so curious about them 😀 Sooooon I shall read them all. Probably 🙂 Happy reading Joy. <3 And wishing you the best of luck tomorrow 🙂 You can do it. <3

  • Sounds like the week went okay and I am glad to hear it! And that reading time kit looks wonderful! Enjoy all three of those books and happy reading. I’m also excited to read Shylock is My Name! I wanted to read it so badly after your review of The Gap of Time 😀 I know a lot of Pierce Brown fans are loving Morning Star as well, so it sounds like a good conclusion to the series.

    • Thanks, Olivia! <3 I hope you'll enjoy the books from The Hogarth Shakespeare series. <3
