Hello, dear readers!
How has your week been? I can’t say that my break was fruitful, to be honest. And part of the problem being the upcoming Christmas festivities. Between trying to close up year end at my job, and running around buying everybody’s gifts, I’ve not had much time to read. I did, however, managed to revisit a favourite series of mine from a beloved author. I read The Lumatere Chronicles by Melina Marchetta which is a fantasy series, no less! And you all know Fantasy genre is an aisle unexplored in my bookshop jaunts. I make exceptions for anything Ms Marchetta writes. If you haven’t read them, you most definitely should.
That doesn’t mean, however, that I did not read anything since you last visited me. I read a couple of books; both of which left me a little underwhelmed, to be honest. If you grew up reading Judy Blume’s books, then, you might be familiar with her writing chops. I did not. So I am not.
Blood Kiss was one that I’ve been looking forward to reading since it was announced by Ms Ward. Unfortunately, it was more of the same.
to Simon & Schuster Canada and Atria for my review copies of And Again and He Will be My Ruin, respectively.
I hope you will get all you wanted this Christmas, everyone. And I’m excited for the coming 2016. I know we all try to do better than we did year in and year out, but I hope we won’t forget that we’re not here to compete. We are all in this together.
