On the Night Table [27]: Déjà vu

DSC00417

Yeah, I know. I bet you’re thinking these books look familiar. Well, that’s because I’d planned to read these books a couple of On the Night Table ago. I don’t want to make a habit of doing these posts only to recant them a week later, but sometimes, other books are just that darn distracting, you know?

Last week was an incredible reading week. Incidentally, I’ve surpassed my Goodreads reading goal of 150 for the year. Which is indicative of how great this year had been for me, reading wise. I’m going to double my effort this week, and will try to resist the call of other books.

Read
  • The Kommandant’s Girl by Pam Jenoff
  • All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
  • Friction by Sandra Brown
  • Until Friday Night by Abbi Glines
What’s on your night table this week?
  • I discovered The Morganville Vampire series by Rachel Caine a few days ago and I am reading the third now. I love them and wish I had found them a long time ago! Hope you get your books read!

  • Best of luck with these books sweet girl 😀 But ugh. I could never read Winger, lol. The cover is way too ugly for me. (Because that guy look like that guy from HIMYM, which is a show I have never seen, but don’t like that actor, hah.) And uuugh, you are aaamazing for having read so many books already this year 🙂 I wish I had. But have had a year where I didn’t want to read much for such long periods.. sigh. But this week I’m reading lots. Hmph. How mean 😀 Thank you for sharing Joy. <3

  • I know what you mean! I have books scheduled in my calendar… but if something comes up, I will read it first!

You can do it! I am so far from my reading goal, I could read the library and not reach it. Okay, that’s an exaggeration. I have to face facts, this year–it was, it’s not happening. Glad you met yours. Hope these books are great!

  • I’m on a “magic” streak. After The Sapprow Sisters, I’m now reading The Lemoncholy Life of Annie Aster. It’s a good one too, time travel that’s not too sci-fi. I don’t know if I want to read Kim Harrison’s Drafter or Chuck Wendig’s Zer0es next…

  • Whoop, whoop! Awesome job completing your reading goal! Hope you enjoy these 🙂

  • You’re so lucky that you’ve already passed 150 books, Joy! I’m still struggling to get any reading done this week at all. HAHAHA. I think I’m 8 books behind already… EEP. Good luck and I hope you get another amazing reading week done!

  • I’ve only read 54 books so far. I think there’s more…I just need to mark it as read on GR but still, it’s not 150 books! WOW. That’s awesome Joy! I’m in a slump so I’m not even reading…*sigh* I miss reading but nothing is keeping my interest of late :-/

  • Fantastic job on completing your goal already! I have 26 more to go, but at I’m 52 ahead of schedule, haha.

  • Wow, 150 books already Joy! That’s a massive effort, nice work! This week I’ve been reading Queen of Shadows and finally finished it. I’ve had the flu, so it’s taken me two weeks to get through, but well worth persisting with. After The Red Rain looks like my type of read. Thanks for sharing Joy, you hording reading machine <3

  • Wohoo on passing 150!

  • I wish I can say the same thing about my Goodreads reading challenge. I am way behind! 20 books behind schedule, and my goal is just 50! Well, I still have a few more months to remedy that 😀

Woo hoo on meeting your Goodreads goal already, that is awesome! Good luck in getting these read, I hope you like them!

  • Maja (The Nocturnal Library)

I’m so glad you had such a wonderful week, and congrats on completing your Goodreads challenge! I’m assuming you meant Love Lessons by Heidi Cullinan earlier, it IS the first book (Walter and Kelly) and they both attend Hope University.

  • 150 books so far is quite a feat! Good luck not getting distracted by other books (some are just too shiny to resist!)

  • Jenny @ Supernatural Snark

Congratulations on reaching your goal Joy! That’s awesome. And I completely understand being distracted from the books you’d planned on reading. Happens to me all the time:)

  • I frequently get distracted by other books frequently so I can rarely choose which books I’ll read beforehand. But way to go on surpassing your GR goal, Joy! That’s amazing! 🙂
Hope these books will be great!

  • Celine

Wow! 150 books already! Glad this year has been so good for you, reading-wise 🙂 For me it’s quite the opposite – I’ve only read 60-something books this year so far, which is way less than my normal read count.

  • RO

I’ve got to finish The Farm, another suspense novel this week before the library police come after me, and a novel by Catherine Coulter. Thank goodness I haven’t set any reading goals because I would have failed miserably this year. (lol) Kudos to you for getting it done, girl! Hugs…

Some intriguing ones, I heard nice things about some. happy reading!
