Hoarders, Books Edition: Episode 154

The Bourbon Kings by J.R. Ward | Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine | All We Have is Now by Lisa Schroeder | Oblivion by Kelly Creagh | The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy E. Reichert

It’s August! Gosh. I can’t believe I will be blogging for 4 years now. It’s been quite an experience, and every year, I find a brand new appreciation to those who’d been doing this for far longer than I have. I wish I can tell you I’m going to hold a giveaway, but sadly, I’m not. Maybe next year? Still. I have lots of people to thank especially those who’d been with me since day one.

Anyway, consider this my July recap as well. July was a great month as far as reading goes. Β I Β read 21 books, but most of them were e-books, and romance novels. I read those like I eat potato chips. Last week, I read 9 of them. NINE! I can’t even. But that’s the thing about romance novels, once I start, I can’t stop. This doesn’t help my ever-growing TBR pile, though. My On the Night Table posts will probably stop for a while, until I can get a handle on the books that I have on my queue.

  1. Beauty and the Moustache by Penny Reid
  2. Love Hacked by Penny Reid
  3. Nowhere Ranch by Heidi Cullinan
  4. The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler
  5. Emmy & Oliver by Robin Benway
  6. The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker
  7. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
  8. Armada by Ernest Cline
  9. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  10. Night Fever Books 1-4 by Jessica Hawkins
  11. One Thing Stolen by Beth Kephart
  12. Burying Water by KA Tucker
  13. Becoming Rain by KA Tucker
  14. The House of the Four Winds by Mercedes Lackey & James Mallory
  15. Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone
  16. Incandescent by River Savage
  17. Affliction by River Savage
  18. Desertion by River Savage
  19. Last Breath by Jessica Clare
  20. Last Kiss by Jessica Clare
  21. Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between by Jennifer E. Smith

Yes, yes. I’m a few books behind on reviews. I honestly don’t know when I can catch up, but I’ll try my damnest, anyway. Obviously, July was not as great blogging-wise. One of my goals in August was to get a review written before I even think about picking up another book. Fingers crossed.

  • Congratulations on 4 years mamacita! I just reached my year mark on the 31st, and I still haven’t made my post for it yet. I’m feeling way too lazy, maybe I’ll just have a giveaway and call it a day lol. First of alll, INK AND BONE. I can’t wait to read this! I’ve heard such amazing things about it, so I’m very curious to see what you think. Everyone has been raving about Bourbon Kings, and you know what, I’m tired of feeling left out! I haven’t read anything by J.R Ward just yet, but I’m thinking maybe I’ll start there. Maybe? What do you think?

  • Yay, four years! That’s so awesome. I can’t wait to see what you think of Ink and Bone, and I’m curious if there’s any kind of paranormal aspect in the Bourbon Kings?
    Thanks for sharing, Joy πŸ™‚

  • It’s nice to know that July was good for you πŸ™‚ I actually got stuck this past month and ended up not finishing so much (I probably finished a book or two last month -__-). • I just finished Armada after having to beg for an eARC to the UK publisher (it’s not out here for a few months yet) and I must admit, I’m a tad disappointed. I really shouldn’t have gone into it thinking it would be as epic as Ready Player One. Really looking forward to seeing what you think of Ink and Bone, so many mixed reviews for that one at the moment. Happy August Joy! <3 <3

  • Armada and Ready Player One are both epic, I loved them so much! Can’t believe it is August already!

  • Oh wow a nice haul! We have Oblivion in common and it looks like you have a lot of books ahead of you as well. You can catch up in time πŸ™‚ Looking forward to your August related posts πŸ˜€

  • Maja (The Nocturnal Library)

I just bought Ink and Bone on audio and so far I’m loving both the story and the narrator. He has such an awesome British accent! As for romance, I haven’t been able to read much else. It’s summer after all. I’ve been binge reading MM romance for a while now and I can’t force myself to stop. Ah well…

  • Jenny @ Supernatural Snark

I’ve been on an epic romance binge lately too Joy! I was in need of a YA break, and romance is always a fun genre for me – like you, once I pick one up, I have devour as many as I can:) Good luck getting caught up on some reviews!

  • Four years … we’re only a couple months age difference. I didn’t even give a crap about my anniversary this year. It’s that how it usually goes? πŸ˜€ Gah, I need to read Ready Player One already.

  • Looks like you had a great month! I read 21 books last month too. But like you, my TBR is still crazy long. Ha
