On the Night Table [24]:

One of these days, I’m going to look back at these posts and figure out how many books fell on the way side as the weeks go along. Last week, I tried to tackle four books and failed to read all four. I didn’t get to The Other Son, because like I mentioned before, it was a second book to a series and I didn’t have the first book. I’ll postpone it for now in the meantime.

This week, while I have four books on the pile, I technically only have to read two. I finished Becoming Rain last weekend, and I only have about a quarter left of Everything, Everything. Let’s hope The Lightning Thief will be an easy read as Villa America looks like the kind of book that needs my entire attention.

  • Burying Water by K.A. Tucker
  • The House of the Four Winds by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory
  • One Thing Stolen by Beth Kephart
  • Night Fever Books 1-4 by Jessica Hawkins

As expected, Burying Water was fantastic. The House of the Four Winds didn’t really blow my sails; One Thing Stolen was not for me and the Night Fever Books sizzled.

Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments!

  • I’m looking forward to reading your review of Everything Everything, Joy! SUCH A PRETTY COVER. I’m interested in reading your thoughts- will you be posting a review? And even from the side Villa America looks kind of amazing; I’ve never heard of it, but I hope it’s a successful read. xx

  • Not read any of them but liking the look of Villa America, will check it out. Happy reading!

  • I haven’t had the glorious opportunity to read any of these books. It sounds like you’re kind of in a book slump. That’s what I’m kind of going through it too so I hope you get out of it soon because that’s never fun. I hope you get back to zipping through your books again real soon!

  • Maja (The Nocturnal Library)

I really need to read a book by Tucker as soon as possible! I keep hearing such wonderful things and your opinion just confirms it. I’m not sure what I’ve been waiting for, but I’m off to buy something right now.

Ohhh! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Villa America. Love the Lightning Thief!

  • I just recently finished Everything, Everything. I absolutely loved it until the twist at the end. I was disappointed in the author’s decision to take it there. I still really enjoyed it, though.

  • I guess The Lightning Theif is a good story although I haven’t read it yet! :p

  • kindlemom1

Oh the Lightning Thief, how fun! I really hope you enjoy all of these!

  • PERCY JACKSON! I love the Percy series, I know they’re classed as middle grade, but they’re just so lovely and a real joy to read. Pardon the pun. I’m looking forward to starting his spin off series soon too, recently bought the set. I can’t wait to see what you think of it Joy, hopefully it picks you up out of the bit of a reading slump you’re in <3

  • You finished Becoming Rain? I gotta know what you think about it. Hurry and post a review, then start Chasing River. Chop chop! πŸ˜›
