I never know what to write when I do my book haul posts. My life is pretty much the usual thing day in and day out, unless something huge happ…Oh. Oh. Oh.
This book. I don’t know if y’all remember, but about a year ago, I was contacted by Bruce of Silent Noise Publishing to see if I wanted to contribute some of my poetry in an anthology they were going to publish. The book is called, A Literary Assault on the American Mind [An anthology about the American Experience]. Well, it’s here! The feeling is so surreal. Four of my poems are included in this book among a whole slew of talented poets. It is now available for purchase, so I guess that’s huge, eh? I’ll be doing a post to promote this sometime next week.
Back to my book haul, I received four books for review this week: one from Simon & Schuster Canada (Stand-Off by Andrew Smith) and three from Random House Publishing Canada (The Dust that Falls from Dreams, Villa America, and Long Change). Thank you, thank you, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Because I decided to read the Burying Water series, I picked up Becoming Rain and Chasing River this week. I started Rain, but it’s going slow for me right now. I’ll push forward though, as I’ve been told it’s as good as Water. I also picked up a few books from the clearance section of my bookstore (One Plus One Equals Blue, Out of Nowhere, and In the Shadows of Blackbirds). I have a feeling I’m missing a book somewhere, but I can’t figure out what it is. Oh well.
Leave me a link to your post and I’ll come visit you! I hope you’re all having a fantastic weekend!
