Hoarder, Books Edition: Episode 151

The Other Son by Alexander SΓΆderberg | Armada by Ernest Cline | In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume | The Notrious Pagan Jones by Nina Berry | Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell | Stone Mattress by Margaret Atwood | Between Us and the Moon by Rebecca Maizel | Safe with Me by Amy Hatvany | Revealing Us by Lisa Renee Jones

I’m back. I’m back. I’m back. Four of these books were sent to me by Random House Canada. They must’ve made a mistake by sending two copies of Armada and The Other Son. But thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you! I promise to share these books with you. πŸ™‚

I can’t believe I only read one book this week! It has been a busy work week for me even though I only worked for four days. I just got back from my holidays, so of course my inbox was full. Hence, the unable-to-read thing week that I just had. Unfortunately, it was not reading week over at the cabin. I just didn’t have much luck with all the books I brought with me. I hope to remedy that in the coming days by working my way through that pile that I intended to read.

By the way, I switched to Disqus this week as I’ve gotten messages from other people saying they couldn’t comment on my blog. I hope Β to eliminate that problem, but I got an email from someone saying that she was not able to comment as a guest. Boo hiss. Special shoutout to Jenny! Sorry you had problems with it. I’ll try my best to fix it.

Not going to keep y’all. I just wanted to say thanks for everything, and happy reading!

  • The only author I am familiar with is Margaret Atwood-Cat’s Eye by her was wonderful. I will be interested to see how you like it πŸ™‚

  • Hi πŸ˜€ Yay for getting a bunch of precious looking books last week Joy. <3 I have zero of these. Hmph. But they all look amazing πŸ˜€ And I hope you'll love them all. <3 Hope you are getting to read more this week sweetie πŸ™‚ Happy reading. <3 And hope you are having an awesome week πŸ˜€

    • Lol. You always get awesome books! I hope you’re having a good one as well. πŸ™‚

  • I think I have already mentioned how much I liked the change! Armada sounds like it is going to be a wonderful book so I want to read it. I have read a lot of Judy Blume in my childhood so I can’t wait to see what this one is going to be like. Oh, and Between Us and the Moon sounds like it could be promising as well.

    • I, on the other hand, have not read a single Judy Blume book. I know right? Sheesh.

  • Armada is excellent, I hope you enjoy it!

    • It is fantastic! Ugh. So freaking awesome.

  • Ooops… double ups happen from time to time!
I hope you like disqus, I find it easy to use.
    Have a great week!

  • That’s a bummer when you have books planned for vacation reading and they don’t work out. Sorry to hear that, Joy. Hope you had fun at the cabin! Enjoy your haul! πŸ™‚

    • Ack. I brought like, so many books and only managed to read two. I suck. Lol. Thanks, Rachel!

  • Can I have the extra books? πŸ˜›

    • Braine! Absolutely. Send me your address. πŸ™‚

  • Oh, have fun reading all these books. I’m been catching myself sneaking around Eleanor & Park for a while now. I may go and buy it at some point, or order it online… πŸ˜€

    • I’ve read it years ago. I just wanted another copy because it’s a collector’s edition or something. Lol.

  • Ooh, happy reading! I’ve been having feast-and-famine reading moments – I’ll go a week without reading, and then finish three in a day.

Yay for all the lovely books though! I enjoyed Between Us and the Moon – despite the premise, it was very well done in terms of the issues it death with.

    • Sigh. Two weeks ago, I read like 5 books. The week after? ONE. Anyway, looking forward to reading Between Us and the Moon. I didn’t have much luck with that author, to be honest. But I’m willing to give her another go. πŸ™‚

  • Revealing Us sounds good, but new to me. Enjoy it and the rest of your reading and upcoming week.

    • It’s new to me, too. I bought it because it was on sale. Lol. Thanks, Brandi!

  • kindlemom1

I hear you on the reading, mine has been horrible this summer. Oh well, it happens right?

Congrats on all the great books and welcome back!!

    • Sigh. Unfortunately. I hope you’ll have a great week, Ali!

  • JOY! I can help you with your blog if you want? πŸ˜‰ Btw, I haven’t been reading much too…I think I’m in a slump. I’m re-reading Nalini Singh’s Heart of Obsidian right now. I think re-reading a book I absolutely love will help me out of it. And ooh, double haul!!

    • Ohhh I haven’t tried any of her books yet. Any good recommendation?

  • Grace Fonseca

You got some amazing books this week. I hope that you love all of them.

Joy I’ve been in the same situation reading-wise, but mine has been because of working too much πŸ™ But I have nearly finished with Burn, and it is as good as I was expecting it to be. I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy your books! πŸ™‚

    • Ack! I can’t wait to read your review of Burn, Jas!

  • Only one book? Shame on you! πŸ˜› You know what … I’ve never read a Judy Blume book. I guess it’s shame on me now.

Hope you get some good reading in.

    • Right? Tsk tsk. Not good for my ever growing Mt. TBR.

  • Like with all comment systems sometimes they do not work *shrugs*

    Anyway booooooks!

    • And I lost all my comments. I don’t know how to import them. Bah.

  • ARMADA! Oh be still my beating heart! I absolutely loved Ready Player One and so excited for Armada! *does cartwheels and other exciting things to show… umm… excitement*

I’ve thought about changing my comment system too, but I’m one of those people that doesn’t like change and also that I probably wouldn’t be able to customise fonts and stuff. I’m really anal like that sadly. Sorry it’s been such a crappy reading week hun. Hopefully once you recover from the hectic week, you’ll be able to pick up a gem and immerse yourself again <3

    • OMG. I can’t believe I waited to so long to read Ready Player One! It was amazing. I kinda want to read it again. Lol.
