On the Night Table [19]: From the Orient to France

I bet some of you missed me, huh? Well, I missed ALL of you. Sometimes, all we need to feel better is to step back and take stock of what’s important, what we have, and how lucky we are. That’s what I did last week. I spent time doing a lot of thinking, and in a series of one-person debate against myself. Needless to say, I’m over all the drama of the past couple of weeks. I’m going to move forward.

So yeah. I’m back. I bet these books look oddly familiar, huh? It’s because along with my dark mood is the inability to focus on anything on my shelves. Hence the reason why these books kept popping up on my reading list. Trust me, these two have been predictably fantastic so far, I just haven’t been able to give them the attention they deserve. But I’m determined to finish these two this week.

I would just like to thank all of you for your words of encouragement and love. Also to those who have sent me a personal message. It means a lot to me. It forever cemented the fact that this community is wonderful, kind and supportive. Β Thank you. Thank you so, so much. <3

I’ve read a few books the past two weeks. I finished the Billionaire Boys Club by Jessica Clare; read The Deal by Elle Kennedy; and a highly recommended LGBT book by Maja of The Nocturnal Library, Shattered Glass.Β The rest are as follow:

  • Romancing the Billionaire [Billionaire Boys Club, #5]
  • One Night with a Billionaire [Billionaire Boys Club, #6]
  • The Deal by Elle Kennedy
  • Shattered Glass by Dani Alexander
  • The Taker by Alma Katsu
  • The New Neighbor by Leah Stewart
  • Knight of Ocean Avenue [Love in Laguna, #1] by Tara Lain
  • One Night of Sin by Elle Kennedy
  • Anything Could Happen by Will Walton

I’m sad that Shattered Glass’ instalment has been stalled for a couple of years now. I’ve been stalking the author’s website, but he hasn’t posted anything for a while now. Seriously guys, this book is awesome. So different from anything I’ve ever read in a while. And it’s hilarious. πŸ™‚

So that’s what I’ve been up to for the last two weeks.

How are you guys? Tell me what’s been up with you in the comments. Have a fantastic week, everyone!

  • Shattered Glass!!!! How I love that book… bunny slippers!!!!!! I’ve been stalking the author’s page since ages (I have read SG just after it got published) but there’s still no news about the sequel(s)…. huge sigh….

  • I want to read Elle Kennedy’s NA’s. I read her romantic suspense books and they were wonderful!

I’m happy you’ve come out of your funk, Joy! I think the book community its awesome in it’s support and understanding.

  • Hugs. <3 Yay for being back πŸ™‚ And hoping you are doing much better. You can always talk to me if you want to. <3 Glad you were able to read lots of books lately sweetie πŸ™‚ I read nothing for two weeks, ugh :p but just read one book, so hoping to be able to read more now πŸ™‚ Fingers crossed. Hope you are having an amazing week Joy. <3 Such a gorgeous bookish picture πŸ™‚

  • I want to read the Deal by Elle Kennedy… soon I hope!

  • RO

Love reading your thoughts on books, which are always entertaining. Call me crazy, but I think I’m starting to get hooked on your photography and pics! (lol) They just seem so artistic to me. Glad you’ve got a handle on what was going on and back to make us smile. Happy Monday to you and BIG Hugs…Ro

    • Thanks, Ro! πŸ™‚ I’m happy as a clam. Lol. I enjoy taking pictures of books, but sometimes, I do feel like I’m running out of ideas.

  • I am so SO happy that you liked Shattered Glass! I know what you mean, it’s unlike anything I’ve come across either. But Dani really should write faster, I need Cai’s story desperately. Will he manage to convince Riley? The suspense is killing me!

    • Ack. Riley and Cai. I need their story like it’s my next breath. No joke.

I am glad things are better with you. I guess we all need to step back sometimes and realign our life so to speak. I have something going on with my life right now as well-a possibly serious health problem, but just going to try and hang in there until I find out more later this week. I am glad you are back πŸ™‚

    • Thank you, Lorna! And I do hope everything will work out well with your health. <3

    • Thanks, Melliane. I’m off to a good start. I had to stay at home today because I have a sick boy. Lol. Happy reading to you, too!
