Right now, I’m drafting this post approximately half an hour before it goes live.

Right now, BeyoncΓ©’s No Angel is on.

Right now, I’ve got my earphones on, the volume on full blast, because my husband and my daughter are watching THE fight of the century [Mayweather vs. Pacquiao].

Right now, I’m trying not to vomit because I’m so nervous.

Right now, I’m not hearing much cheering from my hubby and my daughter.

This does not sound good.

I’ll let you know what happens either way.

  • You are awesome, Joy. <3 Love your comments πŸ™‚ And yay for such gorgeous books last week πŸ˜€ Ember is so gorgeous. <3 But I have heard bad romance things. And it makes me angry. So I'm not reading it yet :p Ugh. But yay for The Girl at Midnight πŸ™‚ Just wishing I'll love it, and you too. Ack. Happy reading sweetie πŸ˜€ Hope you'll love them all. <3

  • Absolutely everyone was talking about that fight, my bf’s family is Filipino so they had a big get together to watch it on cable TV. Me on the other hand, don’t really follow boxing or any other sport, so it was the same old for me. I’m most excited about The Girl at Midnight and Ember in Ashes! Hope you enjoy, Joy.

  • Beyonce’s music is amazing and No Angel is just <333
As for the books, you have some good ones here πŸ˜‰ I really want to read An Ember in the Ashes and have been meaning to try Margaret Atwood's works for a while! The Girl at Midnight is also turning out to be quite popular so that is something πŸ˜‰ I have a copy of Things We Know By Heart so I hope we both enjoy that one!

  • Great haul! IΒ΄m looking forward to read An Ember in the Ashes.
    Enjoy your books.

  • Fantastic book shelf, J.! The more I see the buzz about at the Ember the more I want to read it. Enjoy all!

  • Christy

LOL – I watched the fight at a friend’s house, and it was full of not very happy people. I didn’t care. I like heavyweight boxing. Team Klitschko! πŸ˜€ You know what book you need that I don’t see up there? Black Iris. Read it!

  • The Girl at Midnight was amazing.
An Ember in the Ashes was very good.
Things We Know By Heart was good.

I wonder which you’ll like best. Enjoy! πŸ˜€

  • Mmmm. I didn’t watch the fight, but just from what I read from other people, I’m sad Pacquiao didn’t win.

UGH. I can’t decide if I want to buy An Ember in the Ashes! I’ve GOT to get a copy somehow and see, though…

Hope you have a wonderful week, Joy!

  • I’m not much of a boxing fan either but I saw bits and pieces of the fight after and read some reactions from my feed and I wasn’t happy with the results either! It’s not because he lost but from what I’ve seen he didn’t deserve to lose!

  • I was hOping for TKO, someone needs to bring down Mayweather. Not happy with the results!!

  • I enjoyed Ember, The Start and the heart and hope you do too. Happy reading and hope you have a great week.

  • LOL I don’t watch the fights because I always feel so bad for whoever loses but I hope your guy won!
You have some wonderful books lined up, I hope you enjoy them all!

  • I didn’t watch the fight either but my dad and his family did. Your nervousness is really catching. 0_o

  • Lots of awesome looking books this week. I hope that you love all your new books this week.

  • I was super nervous last night too Joy, that I didn’t end up going sleep before the match (it came on over here around 5am, so I just went to sleep after the match), I so wanted Pacquiao to win πŸ™ he’s such a genuinely nice guy!

I also got two books that made it to your haul this week: An Ember in the Ashes and The Girl at Midnight, I’ve heard great things about Ember, but I hope we both end up enjoying them. I hope you have a great week!

  • I didn’t watch the fight but I hope the outcome is well for Pacquiao! Currently reading The Girl at Midnight and I’m really enjoying it! I started listening to Outlander on audible to and from work and it’s been a great experience so far – I even managed to catch up with the tv show. SO GOOD. I hope you have a lovely week Joy xx

  • Why are you nervous?
