• Gosh, Melina Marchetta and her words. I could just live in them all day.

  • I absolutely love these Joy! I’m such a big fan of Marchetta, with her being an Aussie and all. Her contemporaries are absolutely brilliant and a real snapshot of the diversity in our Aussie households here. Saving Francesca is such a beautiful read, showing diversity and the differences and similarities within the family unit. She hasn’t bought anything out for a while, which I’m hoping means she’s working on something new. Fingers crossed. Thanks for sharing Joy <3

    • She’s writing! She’s writing! I follow this woman’s blog, so on the odd time that she post, they’re updates on her latest book and the filming of Jellicoe Road. I swear to God, I’m going to fly to Australia to watch this film!

  • Love these quotes! I have never read this author but she sounds amazing. Love the comfort zone one. It’s very true.

    • Oh man. This woman can do no wrong in my eyes. Her words are crack. You really should read one of hers. I suggest you start with Jellicoe Road. 🙂

  • Christy

I like those. Especially the one about comfort zone.

  • Ugh. Now I just want to reread ALL the Melina books! I love how you did these, too. Beautiful, of course. 🙂

  • I’ve only read Finnikin of the Rock by her, but I obviously need to read the rest of her books because those quotes are amazing. Also, LOVE YOUR PHOTOS 😀

“Comfort zones are overrated, they make you lazy” … that is so me!! Lol Great quotes!

  • Beautiful quotes Joy, thank you for sharing! Love that you actually printed them out took photos too! I’ve never read any of her books but I feel I should because these quotes are definitely words to live by!

  • I love all of these quotes especially the first two 🙂 thank you for sharing them!

  • One author gives ten quotes for a TTT, like I needed another reason to read Marchetta… I should really get on this… R x

  • I don’t know her or her books but I love the quotes!

  • Awesome quotes! I liked this book

  • Melina is my queen. Such a gorgeous selection of quotes. I would have such trouble choosing only ten.

    My personal faves:

“Oh, you’ve outdone me twice now, you queen of forgiveness. The ring’s a promise of peace and I’m greedy with hope. It’s a song that we sing in a tongue that we share. And though you say it’s a gift from a king to a king, I say it’s a sign from a queen to a queen.”

    &

“Because today, I think I’m leaning on the side of wonder.”

The Lumatere Chronicles are just epic treasure troves of quotes.

    • I LOOOVE WHEN I FIND A FELLOW MARCHETTA FAN GIRL!!! (yes, shouty caps are required).

  • Gooorgeous post Joy. <3 I love all these Melina quotes 😀 SHE IS AMAZING. <3 Jellicoe Road. Sniffs. So perfect. Love the last quote the most, hih 🙂 Thank you for sharing sweetie. <3

  • Those are some really beautiful quotes. My favorite has to be that second quote from Saving Francesca. It’s just so beautiful and true. I’ve only read On Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta and I’m thinking this needs to change ASAP!
Thank you for sharing these, Joy!

  • I adore these quotes, they are all fabulous but I really like the first one!
Thank you so much for sharing these!

  • Love this! “Who are we without words” = perfect!

    Here’s my list: http://bornandread.com/2015/04/14/top-ten-tuesday-inspirational-quotes/

  • These are all so gorgeous and they show how amazing MM is. But my favorite will always be the from Quintana:
“’Our bodies aren’t strangers,’ he said, his voice ragged. ‘Our spirits aren’t strangers.’ He held her face in his hands. ‘Tell me what part of me is stranger to you and I’ll destroy that part of me.’
And she wept to hear his words.”

  • I love these quotes Joy! It makes me want to re-read On the Jellicoe Road and Saving Francesca all over again! I still haven’t read Finnikin yet I really struggled with it the first time I tried to give it a go, but don’t worry I shall try giving it a go again soon, as it is by Marchetta!
