Train Man by Hitori Nakano | Every Soul a Star by Wendy Mass | The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera | Vendetta by Catherine Doyle | The Collector by Nora Roberts | A Wicked Thing by Rhiannon Thomas
Yes, I know. This is kind of an untimely post. I usually do my book hauls on Sundays, but since I’ve been pretty much absent lately, I thought doing a book haul post is a good ice breaker.
I’m currently on my second week of vacation here in the Philippines. I haven’t been able to find a good, reliable internet connection – hence, my absence. Our stay has been a whirlwind of seeing one relative after another and reconnecting with friends that I’ve not seen in years. It’s been an absolute delight, albeit an exhausting trip so far. But it’s all worth it. I don’t know when we’ll be able to come back, so I am trying to make the most of it.
Incidentally, I met Joy of The Bookshelf Intruder last week as well. She’s so great! I can’t believe she was more than happy to meet with some strange Canadian blogger with her little boy in tow. I’m always excited to meet bloggers, but I must admit that I was even more so to have met someone from this country.
This week, I’ve decided to book us into a hotel instead of staying in my family home. I’m feeling a little inspired and hopeful that I’ll be able to write some posts today.
Back to the book haul, these books were purchased at a couple of bookstores that I’ve always wanted to check out since I’ve booked my flight: National Bookstore and Fully Booked. I am a little underwhelmed by the selections on both stores, but I was told that I have to go to certain franchise locations to find the best place with the most selections. Regardless, I’m happy that I’ve checked these off my list.
So that’s what’s been going on. I hope you haven’t forgotten about me.
Thanks for your patience, dear readers. I love you all. 🙂
