Hoarders, Books Edition: Episode 133

Nantucket Blue by Leila Howland | Lovely Wild by Megan Hart | Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel | Heroes are My Weakness by Susan Elizabeth Phillips | Brood by Chase Novak | If I Knew You Were Going to be Beautiful, I Never Would Have Let You Go by Judy Chicurel | Son of No One by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Well, I managed to drag the entire family to Barnes & Noble yesterday and brought back 7 books. I’m sure it wouldn’t be by last trip there. I’ll probably drag them again on Tuesday as that’s when new books are out.

I snagged a signed copy of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s 13th Dark Hunter book and was even more excited to see that it was reduced to half price. Score!

I’m excited about Station Eleven, too. But I have a feeling this is a duplicate copy. I seem to remember ordering it on Amazon, but I can’t recall whether or not I’ve gotten it in the mail just yet. Oh well.

For Christmas, my cousin gave me some pretty awesome hardback editions:

Not shown is a series of sequels from Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women. I didn’t even know they exist! I’m absolutely floored [Little Men, Jo’s Boys, Little Women & Good Wives]. That’s about it.

Blue Lily, Lily Blue! Oh how I love you. I can’t even.
The Chocolate Thief and I did not see eye to eye. But I remain hopeful the rest will be fantastic!

Anyway, this has been my week. I hope yours was just as great!

    • Oh I know! I need to jump start my Dark Hunter series love again.

  • Great hardcover edition of Gone with the Wind. Sorry you didn’t enjoy The Chocolate Thief. That was one of my favorite ones.

    • I’m going to continue with the series, anyway. The Chocolate Kiss is much better, though.

  • I dragged my family to Powell’s a couple of weeks ago. I was sure they were going to hate it, but thank god they humored me. Pretty sure they may have even enjoyed the trip.

    • Lol. My oldest (she’s 13) loves going to the bookstore, but my 7-year-old is only there to look at toys. 🙂 But, yeah. They’re very accommodating some days.

  • You loved Blue Lily Lily Blue!? I need to read it still ahhhh maybe tomorrow.

  • Hahaha love that you can drag your family book shopping and they don’t complain 😛 Great haul Joy, I hope you had a brilliant christmas with your loved ones and that 2015 is bigger and better than ever! <3

  • YAY for making family go book shopping, lol 😀 That is the best. I don’t even own any of these books. Hmph. But they look awesome 😀 I hope you will love them all Joy. <3 And aw. Those hardcovers look pretty stunning 🙂 Sigh. Blue Lily, Lily Blue. <3 Hope you are having the best vacation still 🙂

    • Thanks, C. I sure am! Thanks for the spoilers on The Raven Cycle! Lol.

  • Hahahaha, I’m sure you’ll be back to B&N! I’m there pretty much every day (for work, obviously, but even on off days I go to look, hehe). 😉 Your presents are gorgeous, too!! Your cousin has good taste. 🙂 Yay BLLB!! I hope you have a wonderful week, Joy!

  • I used to read a lot of Kenyon books but it’s been a while since I haven’t tried that. Happy reading!

    • Me too, Melliane. I really need to re-start my Dark Hunter reads, though. I’m falling so miserably behind. 🙁

  • That Chocolate Thief cover is hurting my eyes, I don’t know how you were able to read it without that colour scheme burning your retinas. Those hardcovers and looooovely! I collect classics and have just finished collecting all the Penguin clothbound classics and always looking for more to add to my shelves. Can I ask who the publisher is on those? I’d love to get some too actually 😀

Joy, you have to stop showing me all these gorgeous and retro covers you seem to navigate towards, you’re costing me a small fortune! 😀

    • They are bright, aren’t they? Lol. Thankfully, I’m reading it on my iPad, so I don’t have to keep looking at that cover. 🙂 My cousin bought them at a second hand bookstore (used books), so they might’ve been some old editions. I’ll have to take a look when I get back from my holidays. 🙂

  • Aww, those hardback editions *drools*

Heroes are My Weakness – lol, great title (though in my case it would be Antiheroes are My Weakness 😀

    • Hehehehe. Let’s hope it’s good. I do like the sound of it, though. 🙂

  • I love dragging my sister to the bookstore, I love love all the pretty books you bought Joy, I have had Nantucket Blue on my shelf for the longest time, my sister who never reads actually picked it up before me! I hope you have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing the books you pick up on Tuesday! And I hope your mail arrives soon! 🙂

    • I started reading a bit of Nantucket Blue, and I’ve got to say, I’m a little anxious. I don’t think this will end well. Eeep. Crossing my fingers that it’ll turn out okay.
