Hoarders, Books Edition: Episode 120

The Afterlife of Stars by Joseph Kertes | The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey | I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
Blood of My Blood by Barry Lyga | Rites of Passage by Joy N. Hensley
Falling into Place by Amy Zhang | The Book of Laughter and Forgetting by Milan Kundera

I lamented about how terrible the past week was for people trying to curb their book buying binges. I meant to pick up Rick Yancey’s instalment to The 5th Wave but I ended up with six other books simply because they were calling my name. You all know what that’s like. πŸ™‚ So after Β I gave myself a stern talking to, I squee’d to my heart’s content because I’m really excited about the books I’ve gotten this week.

What’s New?

Not a whole lot. The last two weeks, I gorged on Deborah Harkness’ All Souls Trilogy. I really enjoyed the books; which is surprising because I’m not a reader of the genre.

I also finally finished Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor.

And. Rachel of The Readers’ Den made me read a book she thoroughly enjoyed (I did, too!). The ladies of The Readers’ Den are a good book pusher, I tell ya. πŸ™‚

What am I reading?

Is that It?

Pretty much.

  • All the books look and sound so amazing! Thanks for your visit and comment on my blog!

  • Falling into Place && Rights of Passage! <3 and I really need to read The 5th Wave soon!!

Awesome book haul, hope you enjoy them! Happy reading Joy! πŸ˜€

  • I just picked up THE INFINITE SEA on audio since I listened to the first on audio – hopefully I enjoy it more then the first which I gave a 3star. I loved the first half then the second half just kinda went slightly downhill for me – so we’ll see.

  • I think I’ be buying The Souls trilogy soon! I love witches but I heard book 3 was kinda deceiving πŸ™

  • Joy, I’m so THRILLED you loved Worth the Fall! I’m still swooning over Matt and I could do with a re-read as well!

The 5th Wave was such a welcome surprise! Didn’t think I’d like it as much as I did and I’m so curious about the sequel. I may wait for some of the reviews to come in before starting it, though. Enjoy your books! πŸ™‚

  • Hhaha that happens to me all the time Joy, I go into the bookstore to buy one book, but ending up leaving with a few! I’m thrilled to see The Infinite Sea, Rites of Passage and Falling into Place in your book haul, as I can’t wait to read all three either! Happy reading! πŸ™‚

  • How awesome was Dreams of Gods and Monsters!!???? Now I want to read Worth the Fall!

  • I’ve seen great things about I’ll Give You the Sun and Unremembered. Can’t wait to see what you think of them!

  • Seven books isn’t THAT bad! I’ve had worse weeks… I struggled with the first installment in Harkness’ series, but the trilogy has been getting rave reviews, so perhaps I should give it a second chance. I’ve cleared my schedule in anticipation of Daring (Elliott James) tomorrow.

  • I heard a lot of great things about Rites of Passage and I confess I’m curious about this one. I still need to start the Harkness series but I have book 1. It’s a good start right? It’s just that it’s big …

  • I have the 3rd in the All Souls trilogy to read, but I can’t really remember what happened in the past 2 books except from all of the confusing time travel stuff. Glad to hear you enjoyed, they are long books and overall I enjoyed them too, even though there were a few things that annoyed me. Have a fantastic week ahead Joy!

  • I love your haul! Enjoy reading β™₯

    Here’s my recent haul:
    Newly Owned to Read! #3

PS: Sad that I can only afford ebooks for now, but I won an ARC for Zodiac by Romina Russell! I’m so excited!

  • Zoe

SO MANY GREAT BOOKS THIS WEEK JOY! I hope you enjoy all of them! πŸ˜€ I absolutely loved The Fifth Wave and am impatient for the sequel, so I cannot wait to hear your thoughts – especially after that cliffhanger! πŸ˜‰ I’ve also heard so many things about I’ll Give You the Sun and how absolutely heartbreaking it is, so I hope you find it emotional and that you enjoy it too!

And I am curious to your thoughts on Unremembered. I read it a while back and found it a bit meh, but I wonder what you’ll think of it!

Thanks for sharing, and happy reading! <3

  • Nice book haul! IΒ΄ve heard great thing about Rites of Passage.
    Enjoy your books!

  • Eileen @ BookCatPin

I want all the books you got!! Hope you enjoy all the goodies!!

  • I loved Rites of Passage and Dreams of Gods & Monsters plus, this past week I picked up Worth the Fall myself because of Rachel and it was wonderful. I can’t wait to read I’ll Give You the Sun and I’m curious to see how the final Jasper Dent book fares. Wonderful haul and happy reading!(:

  • Ahh so many books! And they all look so pretty!

  • Afterlife and Worth the Fall looks good and hope you enjoy it. Have a great week!

  • This was a big week! I need The Infinite Sea, but my need to own the second Outlander book outweighed it, so… And after all the wonderful things I’m hearing about Rites of Passage, I’m dying to get to it! I really want to try Deborah Harkness’ series! It’s not particularly my thing either, but if you liked them! I’ll be curious about what you think of Unremembered. Very much so.

    Have a great week Joy!

  • I love getting sequels I am excited about! Congrats on all the books and I am glad you are enjoying them so far.

  • Good for you! That stern talking to was well deserved, but also very worth it! I see titles I already loved, and one I’m absolutely sure I’ll love (Jandy Nelson). Happy reading! I hope you love them all.

  • The Infinite Sea! Squee!! And I got it on audio!! Squeeeee~
    Happy reading~

  • Hmm, I might be tempted by that Worth the Fall book too, J.! πŸ™‚ It does look scrumptious! πŸ™‚ I love binging on books so I totally get your binge on All Souls Trilogy :))) Have a great week ahead, my dear!

  • Yay for bunch of gorgeous books πŸ˜€ And ohhh. Unremembered. I’m curious to see what you think about it πŸ˜€ I did adore it. <3 though the ending for book two is just.. it is cruel. But still a good book πŸ˜€ Happy reading Joy. <3 And also. I do own those Witches books that you just read πŸ˜€ Now I'm more excited about them, hih. Will read them all someday πŸ™‚ Glad you enoyed them.
