Top Ten Tuesday [8]: Obsessed, Much?

photo-7 Hello. It’s not often that I participate in this weekly feature. I try to look for something fun; it’s just so happen that this week’s prompt enabled me to shelve my books the way I’ve always wanted it (by author’s work), so bonus! So this week, it’s ten authors I own the most books from.

Sherrilyn Kenyon. A whopping 20 books, y’all. I don’t think I’ve ever completed the Dark Hunter Series; otherwise, there’d been more than 20.

J.R. Ward. I’m up to date with Black Dagger Brotherhood (13 books in total, including a series of novellas book). I think I’m up to date with her Fallen Angel series as well, but I can’t find the rest.

Melina Marchetta. This shouldn’t come as a surprise. I’m actually missing one (Gorgon in the Gully). I can’t find my copy as well. Boo.

Sandra Brown. Romantic Suspense is her niche. I’ve been a big fan since she was a strictly romance writer for Love Swept. But I can’t get enough of her romantic suspense novels!

Cassandra Clare. I haven’t read Clockwork Princess just because I didn’t like how the story went down. I’m in the midst of City of Heavenly Fire, and I’m dying to read The Bane Chronicles.

Sophie Kinsella. Technically, there should’ve been 11 books here. I found another one after I took this picture. I was too lazy to redo. To be honest, I’ve only managed to get through one Shopaholic book; the heroine drove me nuts afterwards. Someday, I hope to be able to read the rest of the series.

Philippa Gregory. Once upon a time, I was so into the Tudor novels. I managed to read most of her work then my interest just petered off.

Lisa McMann. I’m a huge fan of this author, so anytime she has a new book out, I’m there with bells on! Not in the picture are her MG series, The Unwanteds.

Sylvia Day. This lady has written gazillion books! I’m surprised I only have 8 of them, to be honest.

Richelle Mead. There would’ve been more of her books had I not given away the first 3 books of her Bloodlines series. I also have her Succubus series but they’re in the cabin.

Honestly, there were a few more (Rachel Caine, J L Armentrout, Jane Austen, John Grisham and Anita Shreve) but I can only do ten authors. This was fun! It’s amazing how many books I’ve managed to hoard in the last few years! Thanks to The Broke and Bookish for the prompt!

Show me yours!

  • I’ll have to do this one late. I never seem to do the wow and TTT anymore since I don’t have the room in my calendar anymore lol but I totally want to do this one!

  • Holy…. That’s an awesome collection, I’m TOTALLY jealous!

  • Just seeing those spines, so pretty! I don’t know which author I have that I own the most books from…hmm, probably David Estes and Patrick Ness, because I have their series. I also have John Green. I think I need to organize my stack!

  • Whoa, that’s impressive. Come to think of it, I believe there’s no author other than J. K. Rowling of whom I own more than ten books. Second place would be Cassandra Clare (10), and third Richelle Mead (9) – so our lists have some consonances. πŸ™‚

  • cjsallegue

That’s a lot of books! And they all look so pretty!

Well, let’s see… I’ve read a few of the Dark Hunter series (I forgot which ones), TMI, Can You Keep a Secret (favorite!), the Undomestic Goddess (absolute favorite!), I’ve Got Your Number (another favorite), and Remember Me?

    Awesome collection, Joy! πŸ™‚

  • You certainly are dedicated to your favorite authors! I’ve recently bought a few books by Kenyon and Gregory from BookOutlet, but I haven’t read them yet. And I’m picking up Silver Shadows from the library today!

  • Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace

Love the pics! I have a lot of JR Ward and Richelle Mead too!

    Thanx for visiting my WoW!

  • Awww, I just <3 this post! You have some GREAT collections!

  • Wow!! That’s a lot of books! I think I’m one of the few book bloggers who doesn’t hoard books. I actually get a lot from the library and often get rid of the books I do own. I know – I’m odd!

  • I’ve been reading a lot of people’s posts for this this week, and it’s so interesting to see what people buy the most of! I honestly don’t think I have that many copies of anyone’s books, aside from Robin McKinley, my queen. I think I only read the first Shopaholic book and the one where she gets married. She was kind of annoying… And look at all those Melina books!! πŸ˜€ I only have Froi in hardcover and an ARC of Quintana. That needs to change ASAP. I think I’d love to see pictures of allllll of your bookshelves. I imagine that’s quite impressive. πŸ™‚

  • Wow! Those are a lot of books! I own a maximum of 5 books by an author. I’m really bad at buying series! You have a lot of copies of Jellicoe Road! Haha. I read it, and while I had a rough start, I ended up loving it at the end.

  • This is a fun top ten, I really love the pictures! I’m not sure which author I have the most of but JR Ward is probably up there even though I’ve probably only read like 6 of her books (from the two different series).

  • Great haul Joy! I gave up on the City of Bones series for a while got too boring and way overrated, but hope you still enjoy them! And I love you take the pics for the books! They look great!

  • Aw, YAY πŸ˜€ So many amazing books. <3 I own so many of them as well, lol. I love the pretty pictures you share. Thank you for sharing πŸ˜€ YAY for Melina Marchetta. <3

  • Hoard much, Joy? xD But I love these photos!

Look at all those Sherrilyn Kenyon books!… and I have not read any of them. ;( Same thing goes for JR Ward. I need to try out their books. Melina Marchetta has been recommended to me by lots of readers, and I’ll definitely be reading her books when I can. I think I have 8 Cassie Clare books, and I haven’t read Clockwork Princess, either. I’ve been spoiled and I just don’t feel like it anymore. CoHF is also sitting unread, mostly because I didn’t love CoFA and CoLS. Woohoo for Richelle Mead! I own the VA books and read Bloodlines 1-3 as ebooks. ^_^ I need to check out Gameboard of the Gods, as well as her Succubus series. ;D

  • I am so happy to see Melina Marchetta and JR Ward on your collection. I can’t wait to complete my BDB series and my Marchetta books. And I’m so ecstatic to see Lisa McMann, too. I love that author to bits. So many books you have! Now I’m wondering what your full book collection looks like. πŸ™‚

  • Holy moly, that’s a lot of books, Joy!!!

I’ve only read one book by Sandra Brown and I didn’t enjoy it a whole lot. I felt like it was good but I couldn’t connect to it. It’s a real pity because I LOVE romantic suspense and with her huge back list, I could have had a wonderful time. Maybe it was just the book though? Would you have any particular favorite you’d recommend?? πŸ˜€

Also I ADORE your Melina Marchetta collection AND YOUR LISA McMann one!

I am just going to drool over your pretties now… have fun, you!

  • Sooo, soo pretty, I just love your hardback collection of the City of Bones books! I love the VA ones but they are all different sizes T_T I have the first 6 Black Dagger Brotherhood books but they are in a box set.

  • I am salivating over your Melina Marchetta and BDB collection!! I love that you have both pb and hc editions and of MM’s books and I just… I’m so jealous! These are all so lovely. Thanks for sharing!

  • Christy

Holy crap. Yeah, you’re obsessed. lol.

  • Wow, this is actually the best collection I’ve seen today! You have so many great books! And OMG, you have an ARC of The Bane Chronicles…so jealous…well not really haha since I can read them but still it’s really cool. πŸ˜€

  • I’m so thrilled to see you taking part in this post Joy! I love seeing all the photos you post Instagram, but nothing makes me more happy then seeing all these books! I have quite a few more Marchetta books that I need to get through. And although Becky did annoy me in the first Shopaholic book, at times, I felt like abandoning the the book, she does get better in the books after, also you have a swoon worthy love interest to look forward too! I also do recommend giving Can you Keep a Secret a go, if you haven’t already done so, it’s one of my all time favourite books! πŸ™‚

  • LOVING your Melina Marchetta and Kinsella collections–just gorgeous! I love seeing all these books stacked up together, particularly when the covers match like with Clare’s work, so this really is a great Top Ten Tuesday theme this week. πŸ™‚

  • Okay gorgeous pictures! How could a girl not love all those gorgeous spines? πŸ˜›

Would you believe that I own books in series (a whole series!) that I haven’t even tried yet? I think something is seriously wrong with me. I would love to have a bookshelf with all my favorite authors and series grouped together like that. I bet all together it looks amazing!

  • Mead would be on mine as well, but Jennifer would def make mine

  • Love your photos! That’s how I want to arrange my shelves too if I ever get my bookcase built!
I’m not familiar with the first four authors at all, though suspenseful romance sounds very…intriguing! Cassandra Clare, Sophie Kinsella and Phillipa Gregory made my list too. The last three are authors I’ve heard of but I’ve never read their stuff.

    My TTT:

  • Sheesh, your collections are impressive! Kenyon and Ward especially. I have all of Mead’s books, Marchetta, Ilona Andrews, zusak, everything by Stiefvater and Yovanoff, Briggs etc. I love them all πŸ™‚

  • I love how you’ve photographed these! Phillipa Gregory is popping up on a lot of lists, I may have to read her sometime soon!
