[mis]Adventures in New York City

08076-17220307351Hello there! So, as many of you know, I’m New York bound tomorrow. There’s this book thing; I don’t know if you’ve heard of it. Book Expo America? Does that ring a bell? Apparently, it’s a big to-do in the book blogging community. Meh.

Yeah, so. New York City. Big place, lots of people. What is there to do?

Well, I know our first order of business when we get there is to find the nearest bookstore! Because, guess what? City of freaking Heavenly Fire is out that day! I’m dying. Dying.

Anyway, this is only my third time travelling without the family so I’m still kind of anxious. No worries, though, as I’m going with three of my cousins. Good times, good times.

We spent Friday night planning their days, and my nights since I’m probably only going to be with them after five.

The one that I want to see the most is The New York Public Library, and a couple of independent bookstores. I also want to see MoMA and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Do I sound pretentious? I don’t mean to be. I just really would like to see the exhibits. It’s not everyday that I am able to get civilized in my neck of the woods so, these opportunities need to be taken advantage of.

Anyway, I got invited to a Random House Publishing shindig! I’m so freaking excited! I flailed like a fish out of water when I got the e-vite. Seriously, so stoked! I’m going to meet up with an author friend, Anne Eliot, along with some bloggers that I’ve been friends with. I really hope I won’t embarrass myself too much. 🙂

I think I’ll sign off for now. I sprained my ankle a couple of days ago [fml]. I’m icing them right now; I hope the swelling goes down by the time I wake up tomorrow.
