• Ask Me by Kimberly Pauley • The Taking by Kimberly Derting • Nana by Èmile Zola •

• Love, in English by Karina Halle • Silent by Sara Alva •

Have you ever had one of those weeks when practically all the books that you’ve read blew your socks off? That was my week. I haven’t had one of those reading weeks in such a long time! The bad thing about it is the minimal review posts on the blog. I just didn’t want to break the incredible roll I was on. Anyway, here are the books I’ve read:

15832932What I Thought was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick

I loved this book. I haven’t had the chance to write a review for this yet, but I think I’m going to maybe re-read/skim through it again before I do. Ms. Fitzpatrick has just become an auto-buy author for me.

12000020 Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Another incredible, wonderful read. And yet another review that’s going to be difficult to write. If you’re participating in #WeNeedDiverseBooks, this book is a must-read! Such a beautiful story. <3

18079523 Archetype by M.D. Waters

Rachel of Readers’ Den gave this book such high praises; and I am but a weakling. Another outstanding read. This will be reviewed on the blog tomorrow.

IMG_6226 Last week, while I was trying to keep up with my unread posts on Bloglovin’, Vicki of Books, Biscuits and Tea did a post about this wonderful place where you can order some equally wonderful bookish things. The best part about it is that there was a special offer where I was able to get 10% off my purchases. So I got this Penguin tote, some pocket notebooks, and I finally found the perfect cover for my Kindle. It’s Pride and Prejudice vintage book look-alike. I was surprised that it only took two to three days for shipping, considering it was coming from across the pond!
Becca from Book Lover Gifts is awesome! Check out her online store. 🙂

  • You’ve read Huntley Fitzpatrick’s newest novel! Very jealous. I’ve been dying to get my hands on it, because she’s just such an amazing author. Love the bookish gifts, too! I’ve been wanting to get some book-themed things, so I’ll definitely check these out 🙂

  • Yay! I’m so glad you loved What I Thought Was True (and the other books you read). I loved that one, too. I’m LOVING your P&P Kindle cover. That is seriously so awesome. I’ve heard good things about The Taking, but haven’t read it yet. Great haul!

  • Christy

Omg, Love, in English. That book effed me up in ways I can’t even explain. I love it so much that it hurts. So I’m dramatic, sue me. lol

  • that’s nice, some new great books for you! I’m really curious to see what you’ll think of them! Happy reading lady!

  • I’m looking forward to your review for Archetype, Joy! I’m so beyond thrilled that you loved it as much as I did. Prototype is even better, IMO. I’m curious to see what you think of Love in English. I’ve heard it’s a bit angsty so I’m holding off for a bit. I do love Karina Halle’s writing for the most part. There was one book I wasn’t thrilled with, but they all can’t be winners I guess. 🙂

  • Yes I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to break your fabulous book reading streak by stopping to write reviews. They can mess with your flow, your vibe, YOUR BOOK READING MOJO!!!

    So glad you loved Archetype!!

  • Ooh! Pretty books!!! 😀 & how good was Archetype, right?! I’m finishing Prototype now and it’s just as good. Luv it.

    • *cries* I requested it on Edelweiss but I haven’t gotten a response yet. Lucky you!

      • Oh no! Sorry to hear that. I was surprised I got approved myself, I’ve never gotten anything else from Edelweiss before…

  • I bought Love In English, too! it sounds really interesting! I’m glad you liked the books you read 🙂 Those are the best weeks. Enjoy all your books!

  • Oh I love the bookish bag and stuff! I’ll have to check that shop out. Though I really shouldn’t… You got some great books and you read some great ones too!

    • It’s really hard to resist all the goodies they sell over there. Lol.

  • I’m am so curious about Exile! I’m also now absurdly excited to read your review of Archetype. I looked at it at the bookstore one day and thought it looked really cool, but couldn’t convince myself to do so. You might just do it, though. And yay for a great reading week! Those are the best! Have a great week Joy!

    • It was a fantastic book, Rachel. I do hope you’ll read it!

  • Ahh, bookish stuff! I like the tote you got <3 (And now, I am checking out the store!)
I've had Aristotle and Dante..on my reader, and I should definitely get on and read it! I do like diverse books. We shouldn't be confine to the usuals. 😉

    • Lol! Sorry, Dre. 🙂

      • I saw the leather journal and I stopped myself from ordering because I have 3 leather journals already, and 2 of them aren’t even used yet!

  • Great haul Joy! And I´ll be waiting for your review of “Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe”, I´ve seen it a lot in the booktubers and some say it´s an amazing read.

    • I’m going to try my best. I tend to struggle with great reads. 🙂

  • Woot for a good reading streak! Hope it continues for you

  • Jealous! I’m glad all the books you have read lately have been awesome 😀 Mine have not, lol :p And ohh. Exile. I have an ARC of that one. Read 18 pages two days ago, not loving it :p going to try to read more today. Probably. Or tomorrow. We’ll see 😀 Anyway. Lots of awesome books Joy. <3 I hope you will love them all 🙂

    • Yeah. It doesn’t happen very often, but I’m happy when it does. 🙂 I hope your next reads will be better, C.

  • You, too, got An Unsuitable Princess!! Yay!! Love, in English is a book I’m really curious about (despite the cheating…) And that Penguin tote looks so, so cute! 🙂

    • Yes, I think you mentioned that book to me before so of course, I had to pick it up. Also, why can’t I leave a comment on your blog? 🙁

      • You can’t? Right now everything seems to work, but sometimes Disqus forgets to load and you have to refresh… *sigh*

AND Silent!! It’s just the spine so I totally missed it the first time, but YAYYY *does a little happy dance*

  • I’m so happy that you loved What I Thought Was True. I can’t wait to read your review. I’ll be reading it quite soon too and I’m looking forward to it. I need to grab a copy of Archetype. It sounds like everyone loves it!
Enjoy your new books this week, Joy! And your Kindle cover! So jealous!

    • Oh yes, I hope you’ll love it too. Archetype is so freaking insane. Insanely good. You most definitely need to pick it up, Nick. 🙂

  • I love that kindle cover!! Great penguin bag too. 🙂

    • I love it too. I wish there was a Persuasion cover, though. 🙂 Thanks, Lisa!

  • I absolutely loved The Taking! What a great haul, congrats to you on all of them!!

    • Thank you. I’ve been seeing some not-so great reviews for that book, so I’m hoping I’ll have a better experience. 🙂
