Hoarders: Books Edition, Episode 106

Welcome to this week’s book haul post. Incidentally, this is the first ever post on my new website. Feel free to look around. πŸ™‚ With all the moving around and figuring things out, you can already guess how insane my week was. However, that didn’t put a damper on the book-buying binges that I had this week.

Scan by Walter Jury & S. E. Fine. This book is coming out on May. It’s a Sci-Fi YA about an alien race that lived among earthlings without anyone of them knowing. It’s absolutely addictive!

Clipped Wings by Helena Hunting. This was a pulled-for-published fan fiction that I’d enjoyed back in the day. I’m so glad that the author revamped the story. It made it better, in my opinion.

Spin by C.D. Reiss. This is book one of Songs of Corruption. I found this book through Nocturnal Book Reviews. It only took me a couple of hours to read this. It’s the story of a mafioso and the ex-fiance of a mayoral candidate. Seriously, if you’re into Erotica, you should give this book a go.

I am in the midst of reading book #12 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. So far, it’s meeting my expectations. I suspect this is going to take me a while to read. It’s a daunting 570 some odd pages!

I had planned on getting through my review pile so I’m pretty sure my choices for next week will be a bit sporadic. I also joined the LGBT Month hosted by Cayce of Fighting DreamerΒ and Laura of Music Plus Books. The funny thing is, I don’t see my name on the list of participants. But I’m a huge supporter of LGBT literature so, I’m going to go ahead and participate anyway.

On Friday, I met up with three book bloggers from the city: Sara of Just Another Story, Mary Ann of Chapter by Chapter, and Kristie of Lost in Ever After. We had such a great time! We gossiped, laughed a whole lot and talked about everything to do with books and blogging. I’m really glad we met up. It’s great to talk in person instead of social media. Lol.

Thanks for reading, everyone. Link me up your book haul posts in the comments. πŸ™‚

Ack, I need to pick up a copy of The Assassin’s Blade. I love that series, but I haven’t even read those prequel stories yet. πŸ™ Also, sorry the move has been so rough on you…part of why I haven’t really even considered doing it myself. Everyone makes it sound so easy, but I know I’d be the one that it didn’t work out for. πŸ™ Oh, and yay for meeting blogger friends IRL! πŸ˜€

  • So many amazing books this week Joy! Yay for The Assassin’s Blade, I hope you enjoy it. And I really like that you’ve moved to WordPress. Even with all the issues you had, I think you will enjoy it a lot more, plus there are so many wonderful plugins you can install to make blogging easier πŸ™‚

    • Thanks, Joy. I have yet to read that series, unfortunately, but I keep buying them because I hate having incomplete series on my shelves (anal, much?). I really am loving WordPress better than Blogger, but I suspect there’s a lot more I haven’t really explored about it.

  • I like your ner website.
And Awesome haul! I want to read The King…..I need to buy it soon.
    Enjoy your books.

    • Thanks, Adriana. I’m about more than halfway to The King and I’m enjoying it for the most part. I hope you’ll get to read it soon.

  • Scan’s really good? I’ve been so conflicted on it, since the synopsis didn’t really pull me in but I’ve been seeing good reviews for it. I’ve also been kind of iffy on the Partials series. And yay for a blogger meet-up! I’ve never met another blogger I know online in person, but I bet it’s such fun. No one loves to talk about books more than we all do! πŸ™‚ Have a lovely week, Joy! πŸ™‚

    • It’s very fast-paced, a non-stop action that had me engrossed. I think you should give it another go, Rachel.

  • Wow you got quite the book haul this week, congratulations! That is so exciting that you met up with three other bloggers, I bet you had a blast!

    • We sure did. It is really nice; knowing they live in the same city as me. πŸ™‚

  • Between you and me sounds good, hope you enjoy!

    • I hope it’s good. It’s an Adult Fiction, and I’ve read a book by this duo before. πŸ™‚

  • oh so many pretties!

  • Zoe

Wow! Someone’s going to have a ton of great books on their reading list for the next week or so – haha! Looks like you’ve got a lot of great books! I’ll definitely be on the lookout for your reviews for all these lovelies though! Thanks for sharing! <3

    ~ Zoe @ The Infinite To-Read Shelf

    • Thanks, Zoe. I also buy faster than I can read them, so you might be waiting a while. Lol. πŸ™‚

  • That’s awesome that you got the chance to meet up with fellow bloggers! I thinkit would be so cool to meet them face to face πŸ™‚

I have C.D. Reis’s Beg, Tease, Submit but have never gotten the chance to read it yet. And I heard about Clipped Wings but by the time I checked it out, it was already pulled off online. I’m glad the author did some changes and made the story better though. Will def be checking it out. And I’m very interested with Twisted Fairytales and The Creeper! Going to check them on GR now πŸ™‚ awesome hoard! New books for me to add on my TBR!

    • Thanks, Amir. I hope you’ll check out Songs of Corruption as well, among your other CD Reiss collection. It was really hot! πŸ™‚

  • Really? You just have to click on “add your link”, fill out the lines (then click submit) and your blog should appear on the list (at least so far no one had a problem with linking up), but I can do it for you. πŸ™‚

And I can’t wait to read your LGBT+ posts! πŸ™‚

A Jack Keroac book! I’ve always wanted to try one his novels. And wow, The Creeper looks scary…. Happy reading! πŸ˜‰

    • Duh! Of course. I must’ve not completed the link submission. :/ I’m going to try again. Thanks, Cayce!

  • Ah, I love seeing all the books you buy. <3 So much awesome πŸ˜€ I haven't read any of them.. but going to read Sunrise soonish πŸ™‚ I think. Probably. But anyway. I do adore your new blog look. <3 I hope you'll enjoy everything you got this week πŸ™‚ Happy reading Joy. <3

    • Thanks, Carina. I have yet to read Winter, so I’ve got ways to do. I hope it will be just as awesome as Ashfall. πŸ™‚

  • One day I’ll have to try the Maas series! I have the first 5 books in the Ward series but I havn’t tried them. Maybe one day too. I’m curious abou the Tales book, I can’t wait to see your review on this one. Happy reading!

    • I haven’t read them as of yet either, so we’re in the same boat. For some reason, I keep picking up the instalments even though I don’t know how I’m going to feel about them. Lol.

  • Christy

You know what I like best about this move of yours? Your posts are actually emailed to me. I never got them when you were on Blogger. Anyway, people seem to be all over the place with how they feel about The King – either love or hate it. I still need to read the first one, though. Great haul, Joy!

    • Aw. Thanks, Christy. I’m glad that I’m able to receive quick notifications when I receive comments, and reply just as quick. I also liked that commenters know when I respond back. πŸ™‚ I do hope you’ll enjoy BDB – maybe not all of them, but most of them.

      • Christy

About comment replies: If you want commenters to receive an immediate reply like you do on my blog, you’ll need a plugin for that. People can check the box for “notify me of follow-up comments via email,” but then they’ll get every comment posted from other people, instead of just your reply.
