Hoarders, Books Edition: Episode 101

I never know what write at the beginning of this post. I don’t want to bother you with my mundane life because I’m sure I’ll end up whining anyway. This week, I read Cress by Marissa Meyer and have started Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. Cress was incredible, brilliant, amazing and perfect. Cruel Beauty is dragging its heels at the moment. Let’s hope it picks up its pace soon. Here are my booty this week:
Of Metal and Wishes by Sarah Fine
Scan by Walter Jury & S.E. Fine
These books are on loan. Alexa of Collections and Bethzaida of Bookittyblog rock for lending me these. Incidentally, these will eventually be given away on a simultaneous contest hosted by all three of us. Stay tuned for that!
Β White Space by Ilsa J. Bick | The Tyrant’s daughter by J. C. Carleson
Split Second by Kasie West | Timestorm by Julie Cross | Alice Close Your Eyes by Averil Dean
Red Rising by Pierce Brown
Dark Bites by Sherrilyn Kenyon | Sophie’s Choice by William Styron
On Beauty by Zadie Smith
Thanks for stopping by!Β
  • Cruel Beauty and I did not get alone. Here's hoping it treats you better!

  • I can't wait to see what you think of The Tyrant's Daughter. I saw that one somewhere, I think Netgalley, and I was thinking of reading it but I just wasn't sure it was a good fit for me. I can't wait to read your review and see if it changes my mind!

  • The Tyrant's daughter by J. C. Carleson looks interesting!

  • I don't think anybody would be bored at all if you shared more about you in the beginning of this post. I love it when bloggers do that. Of Metal and Wishes looks really interesting. I cannot freaking wait to get my hands on Split Second. I've been checking my library site like a fiend. I may actually have to break down and by a HB. Great haul and happy reading!

  • I've heard good things about Of Metal and Wishes and that author in general though I have yet to check out her books. Red Rising is another I'm hearing great things about. I hope you end up enjoying these books, Joy!

  • Of Metal and Wishes! It looks so nice there πŸ™‚ You have so many great books! Cruel Beauty is slow at first, but hopefully you'll get to love it at the end! Enjoy all of your books πŸ™‚

  • Read Red Rising asap, Joy!! Cruel Beauty was like that for me in the beginning, but I ended up loving it. Oh, and Split Second … -sigh-. So many good books.

  • Cruel Beauty really was quite dragging in the beginning. I almost quit, but the story does pick up. I see Ilsa J Bick's book there. I'm afraid to pick up another book from her. Still haven't finished Ashes, her series, because I didn't like it much.

  • I am excited for Split Second too, hope you enjoy

  • Red Rising was soo freaking good! I hope you love it!! :o) it's a top favorite book of all time for me. πŸ™‚

  • SO MUCH GREAT BOOKS! I'm really looking forward to picking up The Tyrannt's Daughter. Split Second looks amazing, still have to pick up Pivot Point first!

    Happy Reading!
    My Haul: http://wwwthebookshelves.blogspot.com/2014/02/new-to-shelves-40-birthday-haul.html

  • As I said before I am so excited about you reading Red Rising, I was late as usual to jump on the bandwagon, but now I am so excited to get my hands on a copy, I will definitely be on the lookout for your updates! I did enjoy Cruel Beauty overall, but did feel like it was slow in places too, I hope it picks up for you. Happy reading Joy!

  • I heard so many great things about Red Rising! I hope you'll enjoy all your new books. Happy reading!

  • Ooooh, Split Second. Really enjoyed Pivot Point so I want to read that one. I wouldn't touch Sophie's Choice! I saw the last scene and more. I don't even remember how I started watching it, maybe I just happened to be scanning channels, but I'm so glad I didn't watch the whole movie otherwise I know I would've been a sobbing mess on the floor. OMG!

    Enjoy your reads, Joy! πŸ™‚

  • I really enjoyed Red Rising – it really is quite different from the usual dystopias out there – and I'm really looking forward to reading both Of Metal and Wishes and Scan soon. I've really enjoyed Fine's previous work, so I'm looking forward to her upcoming novels and the cover of Of Metal and Wishes is simply enchanting. Happy Reading! πŸ™‚

  • Great haul this week Joy, I've been wanting to read Split Second and Pivot Point for a while! I recently got Red Rising too and can't wait to read it. Hope you have a wonderful reading week!
