Hoarders, Books Edition: Episode 88

So this haul is a bit…big. I didn’t post a week’s worth last week so I’m catching up. This is one of those book haul post where I can’t decide which book to read first. Some Adult fiction and a couple of classics and of course, the usual fare of YA books.

The Mephisto Mark by Trinity Faegan
The Wicked Within by Kelly Keaton
Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller
(I read this in one sitting!)
 Possession by J.R. Ward
Unbreakable by Kami Garcia
Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
(Read this already but my copy was paperback. Of course I had to get the hardback!)
Red Hill by Jamie McGuire (Signed! Reading this now. So far, so good.)
The Edge of Normal by Carla Norton
Covet by Tracey Garvis Graves
The Panopticon by Jenni Fagan
Tumble & Fall by Alexandra Coutts (terrible rating on GR, which makes it all the more exciting for me!)
How to Love by Kate Cotugno (Read this one. Disappointing. Review will be up next week)
This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales
Tampa by Alissa Nutting (provocative story about a predator of a teacher. Morbid curiosity made me want to read this!)
Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson
Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote ( Seen the film numerous times but I wanted to read the book)
Persuasion by Jane Austen (Captain Wentworth is my favourite Austen heartthrob. Persuasion is my favourite Austen book. I think this is my third copy.)
If anyone of you were wondering when the heck am I going to put up an update on 30 Days to Wreck this Journal, well, I’m working on it. I think I’m going to do a weekly post for it.
So that’s it. I hope you guys have had a great work week or just a great week. Leave your links!
  • Oh boo. I hate when that happens. I hope you'll be able to read them anyway.

  • A couple of those I had e-galleys for and didn't read before they expired. 🙁 Great haul! And thanks for stopping by my STS post as well!

  • I started reading it then I stopped. I'll have to pick it up another time. I hope you'll find one!

  • I didn't know Unbreakable is already out… featured that on my WoW post! I have to get a copy!!! and Covet, I'm hunting for a copy 😀

    Lovely books as usual Joy!

    We Fancy Books

  • I completely agree with you. Not a lot of Austen fans swoons over Wentworth but the more of him for us, yeah? 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

  • Your pictures are always so pretty! 🙂

AHHH, I love your copy of Persuasion! And an absolute YES to Captain Wentworth! He's so underrated, but I guess while everyone else swoons over Mr. Darcy, at least there won't be much competition . Those Penguin editions are the prettiest too. I only have one, but I think I sit and stare at it more than most of my other books.

And I can see why you'd have a hard time picking. So many good books. 🙂 I think I'm curious about Tumble & Fall because of the bad reviews too, though I originally thought it sounded really interesting… Oh well. Happy reading!!

    Rachel @ Paper Cuts

  • Thanks, Emily. I hope you'll enjoy yours too. 🙂 I do love taking my books outside so I hope to keep at it even in the winter. *crosses fingers*

  • I hope so too, Brandi.

  • Thanks, Melissa!

  • Me as well. I've been looking forward to reading that since I saw it on Goodreads. Thanks, Mel!

  • This is an awesome haul! I love the pictures of the books outside in the “wild”, Fall is such a lovely season. Unbreakable and Tumble & Fall are both on my TBR list! I hope you enjoy all your new books =D

    Emily @ Falling For YA

  • I enjoyed Tumble and hope you do too

  • Wowza! That's a lot of great books!! Where the Stars Still Shine looks great! And I hope you love Covet as much as I did!!

Thanks for stopping by my Added to the Bookshelf post!

  • I'm curious about covet, the cover is awesome and I enjoyed the first one. Happy reading!

  • Cool. I definitely won't let GR ratings deter me. I'll judge it for myself. 😉

  • Awesome! Been looking forward to that one for a while. Thanks for stopping by, Lisa!

  • lol – I didn't finish Tumble & Fall, so I'm curious what you think about it. To be fair, what I read of it wasn't terrible, I just couldn't get into it at the time. Happy hoarding … I mean reading! 😉

  • Wow! Yep, I'm jealous. 😉 Such a great haul!! I hope you enjoy them all!! I just finished Covet (review going up tomorrow) it's definitely a great choice to read first! 😀

  • Gasps! You must read it, Rachel. I love, love, love it more than P & P. 🙂

  • Thanks, Alise. I love taking pictures of the books outside. 🙂 I still want to give it a try though, despite the awful rating.

  • Thanks, Ro. Where the Stars Still Shine was so good! I hope you'll be able to read it soon.

  • Ick. That's what I've been hearing! Sigh.

  • I absolutely loved Mr. Penumbra! And yes, you need a copy for re-reads.

  • Ohh I didn't see your haul. I must go back…

  • Thanks, Natalie. I'm looking forward to reading those books as well. 🙂

  • Thanks, Shane. I like it too. 🙂

  • Yes, I so did. Lol! I love bringing my books outdoors. It'll be harder in Winter so I'll have to be creative. 🙂

  • Yes, Mr. Penumbra's so good! Looking forward to seeing your Wreck post. 😉

  • I'm looking forward to reading Tampa regardless of how predictable my feeling would be after reading. Thanks, Sam.

  • I do love Persuasion in most movie versions! I have yet to read the book *gasp*! I really should do that! You finally got your copy of Where the Stars Still Shine! How did you get a signed copy of Red Hill? I want! I enjoyed Covet. Hope you do, too, Joy! Enjoy your awesome haul. 🙂

  • This post is so gorgeous, I love all the pictures. For some reason I just really like looking at pictures of books 🙂 You have some really great titles here that I want to read. You are right about Tumble & Fall, the rating makes me nervous so I'll be looking forward to that review!

  • I want where the stars still shine and this song will save your life badly. Happy reading

  • Lots of awesome 😀 They look so pretty. Sigh. Love your pictures 🙂 This Song Will Save Your Life is awesome. <3 Love love love it. Tumble and Fall was awful. Sigh. Did not like it at all. Still, hope you will enjoy all of it 😀

  • Mr. Penumbra was so good. I borrowed it from the library, but I think I'm going to need to buy it in hardcover for my personal library. That is a gorgeous copy of Persuasion!

  • This is how my haul looks this week, HUGE! lol all of them are great looking. Some of those I got the past few weeks and I can't wait to get started on them!

    Great haul!

    Nikki H @ Take Me Away…

  • Nice haul, lady! This also makes me want to go lie in the grass somewhere and just read all day. There are lots of books here that I'm looking forward to reading, as well: Steelheart, Tumble&Fall, and Where the Stars especially. Can't wait to hear your thoughts. Hope you have a splendid weekend!
    Natflix&Books' StS

  • Ooh, those are pretty. Love the layout on the grass with the leaves 🙂

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Did you really set your books out in the grass and take pictures of them? So pretty — it makes me want to go lie in the grass and read books…
    Jen @ YA Romantics

  • That's quite the collection! I really need to read Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore.

And I haven't posted any updates on Wreck this Journal, either. A weekly one is a good idea 🙂

  • I'm so jealous that you have Steelheart – I can't wait to read that one.
And Tampa is certainly a controversial book, it's one I wish I had read it in a group so I could discuss it with someone once I finished it.

  • Thanks, Grace. I try. 🙂

  • You have had an awesome week. I see lots of YA in your haul this week. Good for you to branch out and try new books. Come visit me as well.
