Hoarders, Books Edition: Episode 68

Sorry for the lack of posts on the blog. My reading time has been reduced quite significantly. Basically, I’m only able to get some reading during lunch hours when I hide in the conference room. But sometimes, when I forget to lock the door, they find me. I also try to read if I wake up before my alarm goes off at 5:30 in the morning but that’s rare nowadays. I have bruises and scrapes on my hand from bashing the snooze button. So that leaves me with the morning drive to work and after work. But don’t fret. I don’t read and drive at the same time. Geez.

I also try to squeeze in some time when my daughter’s at her piano lessons but by the time I’m able to find a parking spot downtown, fifteen minutes have already been wasted out of the half hour that she’s with her teacher.

Right now, I’m writing this post before I go to bed on a Thursday night. Otherwise, I’ll be lugging these books to the cabin and back. My husband does not approve of this practice. He’d rather I leave them in the cabin. But I don’t like that at all. I haven’t read them yet. That’s like asking me to leave my kids to fend for themselves. Oh the humanity.

Anyway, sorry to keep babbling about my life. The truth is, this blog is therapy for me. The people around me had gotten sick of my whining and have taken to playing the tiny violin while I moan and groan. So, if I still have your attention, here’s my book haul for this week. Thanks to a 3 for $10 sale at Chapters, I’ve added another pile to my other piles. Oy vey.

  • Oh, the horror! I can't imagine not having time to read. I hope you'll go back to your usual rhythm soon.
I have Inferno on the way, I really like Kenyon's sense of humor. And I already finished Written in Red on audio and it was amazeballs! I can't get over how awesome the worldbuilding is.

  • I want to read Written in Red, Joy! It sounds really good. I have one word for you, lady: audiobook! It'll help when you have no time to read. If you have a commute to work it makes it a 100 times more bearable. Enjoy your reads and I hope you get more downtime soon. 🙂
