Tour Stop: Shelf Envy [15] with Robin Waldrop

Hello lovelies.

Welcome to another edition of Shelf Envy. Today on the blog, we have Robin Waldrop; author of paranormal series, Shadow of the Blood Moon.

I’m absolutely thrilled to share her bookshelves with you, reason being is that her books are probably similar to yours and mine.

So many fantastic YAs on her shelves!

J:What was the last book you purchased?

RW: Clash by Nicole Williams. Sequel to Crash.

J: Name your ultimate top 5 books:

RW:
Bible
The Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking
The Starcrossed series by Rachel Higginson
Die for Me by Amy Plum
Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White
J: What is the most controversial book on your shelves?

RW: Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

Speak is about a young girl who get’s raped and refuses to speak about it, but has to see the guy in school every day. She is ousted by everyone at school, labeled a social outcast. Only through her artwork does she finally get the courage to speak out about what happened to her, because an ex-friend starts dating the rapist. Good book with good moral background, but parents challenge it all the time saying it’s nothing more than soft porn and not a topic suitable for teens.

J: Name a book that you wish you wrote.

RW: Writing is subjective and I would never want to write another author’s book. They have their writing process and I have mine. Do I envy how some of them seem to write so flawlessly? Of course. I hope to reach their level on my own accord someday.

J: Are there books that influenced your ways of writing?

I’ve read hundreds of books and found something positive in everything. It’s hard to pinpoint, so I would have to say I took a little from all the books I read in my genre.

I’d like to thank Robin for graciously accepting our minor intrusion today and the time she gave us out of her busy schedule. I love your shelves, Robin and envious of the books you have. 🙂
