IMM #25

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Sirenwhich showcases the books we’ve purchased, borrowed and received in the mail this week. This is the 25th episode of HOARDERS, Books Edition.

Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore (ARC)  – I won this through Goodreads’ First Reads giveaway. I’ve been dying to read this book ever since I found out that there’s to be a sequel to Graceling, so I was pretty pumped when I got the email that I won. Thanks a million to Penguin Canada and Goodreads!

Article 5 by Kristen Simmons – I won this book from Creative Reads. I’ve never really gone full throttle on a contest before. I literally tweeted everyday to get my hands on a copy of this book. It didn’t matter anyway, because I ended up buying a copy before I got my winnings. I’ve never been a patient bookworm. *hangs head in shame* Thanks so much, Shellie!

The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood – Why haven’t I read this book before? Last year, I promised myself that I’d be reading a lot more books from Canadian authors and I think Ms. Atwood’s works is a good place to start. This book was on sale too so…BONUS!
Bewitching by Alex Flinn – I’m not going to lie, I was not a fan of Beastly. But when I read the blurb and found out that this is the beginning of the Kendra’s spell casting and bewitching endeavours, my interest shot up a notch. So we’ll see how it goes.
The Nightmare Garden by Caitlin Kittridge – This is the second book to Iron Codex series. I haven’t read Iron Thorn yet but I hate having an incomplete series. It’s the neurotic in me.
Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood – The book trailer? H O T! That is all.
Dead to You by Lisa McMann – Lisa is one of my favourite authors so anytime she’s got a book out, rest assured, I’m getting a copy of it. This book is close to the top of my Mt. TbR and had been on my wish list forever. Chomping at the bits, is gross understatement.
Fractured Light by Rachel McClellan – I don’t really know anything about this book other than I WANTED IT bad. Now, I just have to squeeze it in somewhere in my INVISIBLE reading schedule.
The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey – I’m a little iffy about this one. I hope it’s good.
Fearless by Francine Pascal – I’m always on the look out for an interesting read and the absence of the character’s fear gene as the primary hook, this one grabbed me and took me by the nose all the way to the check out counter while the husband watched in dismay.
The One That I Want by Jennifer Echols – I think this is the perfect break from the vast ocean of dystopian books I’ve been dog-paddling in. I can’t wait to read this.
The Other Life by Susanne Winnacker – I almost read this book in one sitting. It’s quite engaging. My review is on the works.
Erebos by Ursula Poznanski – O.o I didn’t realize this is a German translated book…I think. The concept sounds good, though.
Archon by Sabrina Benulis – Despite its lukewarm reviews, I’m still eager to read this book. So…we’ll see how it goes.
